How To Pray
Sometimes it seems as though each day becomes more difficult than the day before. Teachings from man sometimes makes it rather confusing. What I mean is man teaches us how to pray. So often our ministers our friends that we meet teach their own ideas on how to pray how to bend the Lords Ears our way.
Sometimes we even feel, as we say some sort away. Sometimes we even get mad at God. Because things don’t go our way.
How about Jesus made it very simple. Jesus was asked how to pray. Obviously things were back then just the same as they are today people were praying amiss. They were wondering why things weren’t going their way they were wondering why they would pray for something and it wouldn’t just appear like they had just rubbed a genie in a bottle. He made it very simple he taught them how to pray.
I’m going to make it real simple for you today. No not not me. I have no power. Jesus has all power on earth and in heaven. So who should you listen to on how to pray? I’m going to give it to you right now. No not me but Jesus.
Open your Bible. Go to Matthew chapter 6. Go to verse five and carefully I mean carefully read slowly all the way through verse 18. And if you do that it will change your life forever. You will see that you might be praying. In a way that Jesus did not teach you to pray. You will find that if you pray in the way that Jesus taught us to pray your entire life will change. And you will learn most of all, that it is not about our will. It is all about the Lords will. The word of God says to pray that Thy will be done. Not your will but Thy will.
Submit and ask God to help you accept Thy Will.
Matthew 6:9-13King James Version (KJV)
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
King James Version (KJV)
This you see is how Jesus taught us how to pray.In verses five through nine he shows how people have a tendency to pray. If you backtrack and go to verses five through nine you might want to ask yourself. If this is how you have been praying.
Jesus makes it real clear how and how not to pray
